Cielo Global Health Media wins National Headliner Awards

Global Health Frontiers has won first place in the 2017 National Headliner Awards for its work in 2016 in the category of science/health reporting for television.

“We’re honored to be recognized nationally for the work done by our team to spotlight the challenges and achievements on the front lines of global health worldwide,” said Gary Strieker, the executive producer of the series that premiered last year on public television with four one-hour newsmagazine episodes. “Our mission is to transport our viewers to the inspiring work that is improving the health of billions of people, especially those who have suffered from preventable diseases of poverty. Our series will continue to promote awareness and support for the cause of global health as a defining challenge of our time.”

The Headliner Awards program, founded in 1934, is one of America's oldest and largest contests for recognizing journalistic achievements.

The first season of Global Health Frontiers can now be seen on public television stations nationwide.
